Artist’s Statement
For me, art isn’t something I make – it’s something I feel. Each piece begins as an idea, a spark of colour or movement, and then takes on a life of its own once it meets the canvas. My practice sits within contemporary abstract art, blending acrylic fluids, resin, and mixed-media to explore connection between emotion, nature and form. I am fascinated by how colour moves – how light shifts across a surface, how depth can invite touch, and how texture becomes its own kind of language.
My inspiration comes from life itself – from changing seasons, quiet landscapes, and the subtle emotions found in stillness and reflection. I’m drawn to contrast: the balance between chaos and calm, structure and flow, raw texture and high gloss resin. Each artwork becomes a layered reflection of those moments, merging movement and material to capture something fleeting yet familiar.
RJ Collective grew from a love of exploration – a desire to see what happens when curiosity meets courage. Every painting is an act of discovery, a dialogue between instinct and intention. No two pieces are the same, and that’s the beauty of it.
My goal is simple: to create work that resonates. Art that draws you in through light, depth, and texture – inviting you to slow down and feel. I hope that within each piece, you’ll find a fragment of your own story too.
