Fissures is a meditation on imperfection — a raw and unfiltered exploration of emotion, fracture, and the beauty found in resistance. Across the 11.5-inch square canvas, faultlines cut through layers of pigment where the paint has dried and pulled away, creating tactile valleys of depth and contrast. The surface oscillates between matte texture paste and the liquid clarity of resin, echoing the tension between control and release, suppression and flow.

This is not a delicate piece; it is deliberate, grounded, and unapologetically honest. The faultlines speak to the fractures within us — those moments where emotion hardens, where we build walls to contain what we cannot bear to feel. Yet the gloss resin breaks through those barriers, allowing light to reclaim the surface and emotion to find movement once again.

Fissures celebrates non-conformity and the unpredictable nature of creation. It is the voice of the material asserting itself — paint, texture, and resin each choosing their own path. In doing so, it becomes a reflection of the human experience: fractured yet luminous, imperfect yet profoundly whole.
