Teal Equinox

Teal Equinox explores the balance between stillness and motion — where cool teal depths meet molten streaks of gold and orange light. Layers of dark teal, metallic cobalt, indigo, and gold flow together like shifting tides, punctuated by bursts of warmth in yellow and orange.

Created as part of the Emerging Artist Series, this work reflects experimentation and emotional evolution — a study in colour, rhythm, and harmony. Finished with a gloss varnish, it catches the light beautifully, enhancing both the metallic sheen and the fluid sense of depth.

Every brushstroke in Teal Equinox was guided by intuition rather than precision. The pigments were allowed to move freely across the surface, blending naturally to create unexpected transitions between deep sea tones and radiant highlights. This technique gives the painting a sense of calm energy — fluid yet grounded, like a breath drawn in balance.

When viewed from different angles, subtle details reveal themselves: delicate lacing in the teal layers, glints of gold that shimmer beneath the varnish, and fine gradations of indigo that lend quiet strength to the composition. Whether displayed in natural light or under a soft interior glow, the piece shifts and transforms, echoing the living energy of water and air.

Teal Equinox is a reminder that equilibrium is not stillness, but motion held in harmony — a visual meditation on contrast and connection.
